What Affects Your Musculoskeletal System?
Sometimes, your lifestyle or dietary choices can adversely affect parts of your body without you even knowing it. This is true for your musculoskeletal system. The following issues can affect your musculoskeletal system if not corrected:
Immobility. Immobility is a manifestation of the sedentary, busy lifestyles that are so common nowadays. But it doesn’t have to be. You can work movement into your daily life and reduce the time you are sitting and immobile by taking breaks to stretch and move around, as well as incidental exercise, that is, physical activity that is part of your daily lifestyle such as hanging out washing or taking the stairs.
Overexercising. A balance between a good amount of exercise and resting is important to avoid overstraining the body and to allow the body to recover from exercise, repair itself, and build muscle.
Lack of weight-bearing exercises. Weight-bearing exercises are essential for strength, muscle-building, and bone density.
Poor diet. Diet can play an important role in strengthening the health of your bones and musculature.
